A Fun Playdate

We are so blessed with some really great friends!  Some of our friends couldn't make it to Brayden's party, so they threw a mini-party for him at their house for lunch on his birthday.  

It was a special treat!

Alison had a great idea of building a volcano out of Playdoh.  Once the Playdoh is molded into a volcano (on a rimmed baking sheet), pour in baking soda...to the brim if you want...or if you have one of the kiddos pouring it!  

Pour on distilled white vinegar into the volcano, 

and watch it bubble up and 'explode'!

Add food coloring onto the baking soda,

and it makes the lava different colors.

Green 'lava'...

Orange 'lava'...

You can do it over and over again.
(Just scoop out the icky baking soda after each pour.)  
What a super fun idea!
