This year was probably one of our favorite 4th of Julys ever! We started out the morning heading to our local parade, in which we got to see my sweet sister, Amy, riding in one of our church's floats.

The guys got sprayed with a pressure washer as it
passed by...they said it felt great in the hot Texas heat!
That evening, we had a bunch of friends over to cookout
before we all headed to the fireworks show. Here's some of
my fun goodies I made for the evening...
"Happy 4th of July" bunting that I made,
hung on baker's twine and on skewers that I put into the cake.

Amy helped out with some of the outdoor decor and made stars on our lawn.
Simply cut out a star shape on a posterboard then place on grass.
Using a spray bottle, spray water on the grass, then sprinkle flour on top.
Take off stencil, and voila...your star-studded lawn!

After the cookout, we all headed out to *hopefully see fireworks.
Most of our area has banned fireworks due to the drought, but
we were so excited when they decided to go ahead and do the show.
We were this close to where they shot them off...
our favorite place each year!

Luckily, this year, Brayden loved the fireworks.
Last year, not so much. Once he learned they were
far away like airplanes, he was good to go!
