It's Summertime!

So far, this summer has been great...even in the Houston heat!  We've had lots of relaxing time, which has been great being pregnant.  We've been out of town or had family visiting a good amount of the summer.  I can't believe we're just a couple weeks from August...slow down, summer!

For Memorial Day, we got to hang out with some friends
who have some fun water slide inflatables for the kids to play on.

We've gotten to go to several Astros games this year.  At this game,
I cheered for the Astros...the boys cheered for the Dodgers.
He really loved the cotton candy!

Earlier this summer, we had a kickoff party for our student ministry
and I made shirts for all the Youth Staff kiddos to wear with the
Second Students logo.  L-R: Joshua, Brayden, Jett and Harper
It was an attempt at a picture, but none of the kids were that into it.  Ha!
At our summer kickoff, we had a Crawfish Boil and to go along
with the cajun theme, Jonathan brought in a guy that had alligators!
We all got to hold it for a minute!  Agh!!!

Happy 4th Birthday Brayden!

My baby is 4 YEAR OLD!!!  WHAT?!  How did this happen?  It seems like just yesterday that we were in the hospital having him.  And now, he is FOUR.  Crazy.  He is growing up so much and becoming such an amazing child who simply loves life.  He brings such joy, laughter, and fun into our home.  I am so thankful.

Phee & AJ's Visit

It was great to have Jonathan's brother, Philip, and his wife AJ come and visit us earlier this summer.  We had lots of fun hanging out with them.  One of the fun things we did was head out to the Houston Zoo.
Thanks for visiting us, Uncle Phee and Aunt AJ!

Father-Son Adventure Night

Awhile back, we had a Father-Son Adventure Night with our Preschool ministry at church. Brayden was super excited about getting to spend a fun night out with Dad.  They looked at old classic cars, rode a train, made airplanes, ate burgers and had lots of fun together.
Look who is in the driver's seat!
...agh!
Making an airplane to fly together.

It was a fun night...just Daddy and Son!

Beach Retreat 2012

Beach Retreat was an amazing week this year.  We took our High School students to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, AL and our JHigh students went to South Padre, TX.  This was Jonathan's first year as Student Pastor to go to both weeks of camp.  I was so glad that, even though I was pregnant, I was able to be at High School Beach Retreat again this year.

Silent Sounds: Each morning and evening, we head
out to the beach, and we get 30 minutes of time with God.
It's such a powerful time of just being still and quiet before
the Lord - Bible and devotion in hand.
Afternoon free time at the beach and pool...

So glad my sis, Amy, was able to come down
and be a leader for the week!  So fun!

Some of the student pastors went Bunjee Jumping
one of the nights after the kids were all in their condos.
Jonathan had a blast, although I was a nervous wreck
while I knew he was doing it.  I'm just glad he is alive.  Ha!

While we were at Beach Retreat, Brayden had fun
at Mimi and Papa's in Oklahoma.  Here he is representing

It was a fun week(s), but we were both glad
to see this little man when we got done!
