Weekend at the Ranch

We had the chance to getaway for a couple days with some friends on a ranch in Brenham. It was so nice to relax and get out of our normal routine for awhile. Brayden loved running in the fields, feeding the horses, and we enjoyed the bonfire at night and time with friends. Thanks Easley's for having us join you & the Harris family!

Brayden got to feed apples to the horses.

The giant oak trees on the property - beautiful!

While in Brenham, we went to the Blue Bell ice cream factory. We saw how they made the ice cream and then we each got a scoop of our favorite kind. It was great!

Oscars Watch Party

Earlier this month, we hosted an Oscars watch party at our house. We had a blast just hanging out with friends and voting on the movies/actors we thought would win. The boys even went as far as to dress up for the red carpet.

Brayden didn't really want to watch the show.
He was too busy showing his 'girlfriend,' Kelsey,
how to throw a football.

Coloring...

Lately, I've been pulling out the crayons for Brayden to learn how to color. He is still figuring out how to hold the crayon, and we're not sure if he's a lefty or righty...Jonathan is pulling for him to be a lefty (sports!)...but we'll see. He loves this long roll of paper I found (at a garage sale), and thankfully we can pull it to cover the whole coffee table so crayon doesn't get on the table. He thinks it's so fun!

Spring Break in Oklahoma

This spring break, Brayden and I headed up to Oklahoma while Jonathan went to Arlington, TX with our high school students on a mission project. It was so nice to relax and be with family. We had a great week and played outside a lot...but left just in time to miss 6 inches of snow that hit OKC this past weekend. Brayden loved getting to hang out with Mimi, Papa, & Aunt Amy...he played so hard all week and loved every bit of it!

I just LOVE this pic!
At Cuppies & Joe...YUM!
His first experience with playdoh.
The potato masher was a hit!
Arghhh! He wasn't digging it.
Time with sweet friends...Melissa & Leah (and the kiddos)
We went to this super cool art exhibit downtown called Function and Design. It was so amazing how artists created these designs out of recycled materials. Incredible!
A beautiful bed at the Function & Design exhibit.
At the Melting Pot - SOOOO good!
He really enjoyed it too, as you can tell!
At Nanny & Papa's house
On our last day there, we went to the OKC Zoo.
Brayden is really into animals now, so he had a blast!

Father/Son Moments

I walked in to find Brayden chillin' on the couch next to his Daddy. It was so cute seeing him just relaxing next to Jonathan. He loves to be around his Daddy. In the morning, if he wakes up and Jonathan is still in bed - which usually only happens on Saturdays (I am lucky Brayden sleeps late!) - Brayden will wake up and walk into our room trying to find Daddy. He perks up whenever he hears the garage door opens and yells out, "Dada!" He loves to play with Daddy, and shoot the basketball with him.

He has big shoes to fill...

Literally.

Lately...

He is getting so big!
Reading Brayden a bedtime Bible story
Poor kid...he really wanted his pacifier
which was attached to his diaper bag.
Well, that's a solution.
He just sat down next to his diaper bag
so he could suck on his paci.
