Earlier this summer, we went on vacation to San Antonio and Austin for a few days each. It was great to get away for a few days and just relax together as a family. We stayed on the Riverwalk, and Brayden was our navigator around town as we found the places we wanted to go...
One day, we went to Sea World. As we headed out there, we double-checked our GPS, thank goodness. I had punched it in, and we got on the road the way it was taking us. After a couple minutes, I looked at it and noticed it would have taken us until the next morning to get to our destination. It was taking us to Sea World in California! Thanks, Mapquest! So, after correcting it, we made it just fine to Sea World 20 minutes away!
There was an area where you could pay a couple bucks and feed the dolphins. So cool!
You could also reach out and touch them. What an experience for all of us!
I couldn't ride much since I am pregnant, but Jonathan took Brayden on this log ride.
I was so impressed he actually would go on it at 4 years old!

The second half of our trip, we drove up to Austin for a couple days.
We had nothing planned. Just relaxing. It was SO nice!

One of the nights, Jonathan talked me in to going out and seeing the famous bat bridge. Every night, about half a million bats fly out from under this bridge to go find food. It's the largest urban colony of bats in the world, and it's a big draw for people to watch...something I thought I would NEVER EVER even get near! We originally were going to watch it from a ways away, but then we realized we couldn't see anything...so we headed nearer. I thought it was crazy to get this close, but nonetheless...we went practically right under the bridge! With hundreds of other people there, I felt a little better.
Once it got dark, you could see swarms of bats flying out together. Crazy!
One of our favorite places in Austin is Mozart's coffee shop on the lake.
It's so relaxing and a great place to hang out and read for awhile.
