Changing Diapers

I never thought changing a diaper would be an issue for me.  We always joked saying that Jonathan would be gagging over every diaper and cringing when he had to change a messy one.  He, so far, has been the champ.  Since I had a C-section, I was pretty much "out of commission" the first week or so of "getting" to change diapers.  My mom and Jonathan braved through most of the diapers, while I managed to only change 2 the first week or so.  Since then, I have mastered the skill. Staying at home with Brayden, I have plenty of opportunities to change his diapers. (It is AMAZING how quickly I go through a jumbo pack of diapers!)

Most of the time, I don't mind it at all...that is, until this past week...

All of a sudden, his diapers became unexplainably potent!  I whipped one open for a quick change, only to be faced with a thoroughly filled diaper which MADE ME GAG SO BAD!!!  I thought I might throw up!  I never thought it would be me...but there I have been, this past week or so, practically heaving over my son's diaper changes.

To commemorate this, I will spare you a video of MY experience, and instead please enjoy the experiences of others (mostly dads) in their quest to change a diaper...ENJOY!  (It's hilarious!)

Oh, that's nice!

Feet!

Brayden has found his FEET!
He is constantly grabbing his little toes and playing with them.

4 Months Old!!!

It's so hard to believe that Brayden is now 4 months old! Time is flying by!  We had his 4-month well-check at the doctor, and he is growing and growing!  He is now 15 lbs. 2 oz. and 26 1/2 inches long.  I am so thankful that he is a healthy little guy.  The Lord is good!

A Fun Weekend

This weekend, my dad came in town from Florida to meet Brayden for the first time.  We had a great time relaxing around the house and visiting while he was here.  We're grateful he made the trip, and hope he can come back and visit soon!

Post-Election Thoughts...

One of my good friends Emily wrote a post on her blog to follow-up on the election.  I think it's very well-written and definitely makes us think how we will respond to this election.  Thanks, Emily, for your wise thoughts, and I pray that we will all live our lives with God on our throne while still respecting the authorities placed in our lives.

Check out her post here.

We voted this morning!  We headed up to the small little church called Friendship United Methodist Church to cast our ballot.  Brayden was dressed in his patriotic colors to show his support even though he isn't quite old enough to vote himself.  As of now, we can only pray that God would put the right man in office, and that our country would ultimately turn to Him for guidance.

New Discoveries

Brayden is growing and growing everyday!  It's hard to believe he's almost 4 months old.  As of this last week, he's started laughing!  It's not a normal high-squealed laugh that we expected of an infant, but actually a deep belly laugh so adorable that we try to get him to do it over and over again. (I'm sure at some point, we might possibly regret this...well, maybe not.)  He has also begun to roll over from his back to his tummy.  This feat kind of freaks him out when he finally makes the flip.  He quickly tries to push himself back over to the familiar territory of staring at the ceiling.  He is having fun grabbing onto toys and stuffed animals only to draw them straight to his mouth.  Drool has now become a constant and steady stream from his mouth to my shoulder.  It doesn't even phase me anymore - why try to wipe it away when it's just going to be soaked again in a few minutes!  Everyday seems to be a new discovery - a new step - in this little baby becoming a little boy.  It is something I am savoring - and hoping it doesn't fly by too quickly!

Trick or Treat

Bzzzzzzzzzz!!!  Brayden dressed up as a bumblebee this year for his first Halloween.  He was so cute!  We went over to the Hunt's house for a Halloween party.  We had a great time.  It was our first experience at a party with TONS of kiddos...a new experience for us, but quite fun!
